What the buyer sees
If a product is out of stock, its storefront page shows a “Notify me when it's back” button. It also appears in the cart if the product ran out while sitting there.
The button leads to Telegram: the buyer taps “Start” — and the subscription is done. When stock is back, the bot writes to them within 10 minutes — no matter how you restocked: on the product card, through a material or by cancelling an order.
Through which bot
- Your store's own bot (if connected under Integrations) — the button leads to it. As soon as the buyer taps “Start”, a Telegram conversation appears in Messages, starting with a card of the product they're waiting for. You can write to them like in any conversation, and the bot sends “back in stock” itself — which is also visible in the conversation.
- Without your own bot, the subscription goes through the platform bot. It only notifies. If the buyer writes something of their own, the bot replies with “Message on Instagram” / “Message on WhatsApp” buttons — that is, your connected channels. On WhatsApp the text is pre-filled: the product name and link.
A buyer who subscribed through the platform bot straight from a product page, without talking to you, isn't known to the dashboard — they only show in the product's counter.
Where it shows in the dashboard
- Products — a “Waiting: N” badge on the product card.
- The product card — a “Restock waitlist” block: how many people are waiting, how many the bot has already written to and how many of them bought through the link in the message.
- Messages — if the cart was put together in a conversation, the customer card has a “Waiting for” block with the status: waiting, the bot wrote, bought.
Tapped, but never started the bot. If the buyer tapped “Notify me” but never tapped “Start” in Telegram, the bot can't write to them. The “Waiting for” block in the customer card then says “Pressed “Notify me” but never started the bot — message them yourself”.
The product won't be back
The “Restock waitlist” block has a “Won't be back — notify those waiting” button. The bot writes to each person that the product won't be back and stops waiting. The product itself doesn't change: archive or delete it separately (see Product order, archive and deletion).
If you delete a product or size someone is waiting for, the bot writes the same to them automatically.
Why the button isn't on the storefront
- The store's plan is FREE: “Notify me” is from the Plus plan.
- The product is in stock — the button only shows for out-of-stock products.
