A number or unlimited
The stock field understands two states:
- A number — that many pieces are available. A sale lowers it, a cancelled order returns it.
- Empty (∞) — quantity isn't tracked and the product is always available. Handy for made-to-order products. Everything that came in through Instagram import starts with this stock.
To start tracking — enter a number. To go back to “∞” — clear the field.
Where to change it
- A single product — right in the list: tap the “Stock” badge in the product row and enter the quantity. Or on the product card, the “Product stock” field.
- A product with variants — on the product card, in the variants table: each variant has its own stock.
- Many variants at once — the “Stock” tab on the Products page: a table of all sizes of all variable products. Enter moves to the next field; “All 0” and “All ∞” fill everything. Save with “Save stock”.
Badges in the product list
The “Stock” badge tells you where the number comes from and leads to where it's changed:
- “Stock: N pcs” with a pencil ✎ — the number was entered by hand; tap to change it.
- “· from materials” — the quantity is calculated from the materials warehouse; tapping leads to Materials. You deliberately can't type a number on such a product — it would contradict the warehouse.
- “· N variants” — the total across variants; change it on the product card.
- “Out: “material name”” (amber) — there isn't enough of the material for a single piece. Restock the material, not the product — and the product can be bought again.
- “N sizes not tracked” — these sizes have “∞” stock, so sales don't reduce them. Link a material or enter a quantity.
- “Waiting: N” — that many buyers subscribed to be notified when the product is back. See “Notify me when it's back”.
When a product is taken off stock
- Cash on delivery or prepayment without online payment — stock goes down right away, when the buyer places the order.
- Card payment — stock goes down when the bank confirms the payment.
- A cancelled order returns the items to stock; a deleted one does too, if the stock was already taken.
Reservation
An item sitting in a cart or awaiting payment won't be sold twice:
- A cart link holds the item for 20 minutes — during that time other buyers on the storefront see it as “out of stock” or “only N available”. See Cart link.
- An order placed but not yet paid by card holds the item for an hour. If the buyer doesn't pay within the hour, the item becomes available to others again.
In the dashboard, reservations don't get in your way: an order you create yourself and order editing use the physical stock.
When a product runs out
If stock is 0, on Plus and above the product page on the storefront offers the buyer “Notify me when it's back” — and the bot writes to them as soon as you restock. See “Notify me when it's back”.
To stop sales without changing the number — “Mark as out of stock” in the product menu.
